Complete zkID via Privado ID

Whether you have an existing Giveth profile or are creating a new one, you need to complete a zero-knowledge identity verification (zkID) via Privado ID, our identity partner. This is to mitigate Sybil attacks and abide by the project’s legal restrictions for specific regions or entities.

The q/acc protocol uses the zero-knowledge Privado ID solution to ensure the integrity of the system. There are two steps to the process: a liveness check, to make sure it’s a live human doing the identity verification, and a documentation check, to make sure the human is not from a country on the FATF AML list, or from the US or UK, these last two for regulatory reasons.

The q/acc protocol prohibits persons from the United States and the United Kingdom from participating for regulatory reasons.

The q/acc protocol prohibits persons from the following countries in compliance with AML: Afghanistan, American Samoa, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Belarus, Bosnia Herzegovina, Central African Republic, Cuba, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Fiji, Guam, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Montenegro, Myanmar, Nicaragua, North Korea, North Macedonia, Palau, Panama, Russia, Samoa, Serbia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, US Virgin Islands, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Yemen.

There are the four document types accepted: Passport, National ID, Driver’s License, or Resident Permit. Documents must include your date of birth or verification will fail. Have your document ready!

We strongly encourage you to use MetaMask at this time. We have had issues reported from those using WalletConnect.

We encourage you not to use the Privado mobile app at this time. You will see an option to  “Continue via app” during verification. Do not select that.

Additional tips before you start:

• The document verification can take up to 24 hours, though it is often much faster!
• Some steps might take a little time to load. Just hang tight, it’ll get there!
• For the document scan, you’ll need to use your phone. But you can start the process on a desktop or laptop with no problem.
• Drop a message in the q/acc Support Telegram channel if you need support.
• Let us know your experience! This is still a very innovative technology and we are on the frontier. So any feedback that we can share with Privado ID to make UX improvements is very welcome.
